Indonesia is a state in Southeast Asia and is made up of 17,508 islands. With a population of over 250 million, it is the fourth most populous country in the world. Vast uninhabited and wild areas that host one of the greatest biodiversity on the planet, densely populated islands and others without a name make Indonesia the country of contrasts.
The main islands are Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Celebes, Timor, Bali, Flores and Sumba which give life to a great variety of cultures and languages, as well as exotic landscapes, beaches, flora and fauna.
Located along the equator, Indonesia has a tropical climate, humidity is generally high and temperatures vary very little throughout the year.
Sumatra is admired for the quality of its coffee thanks to the optimal climatic conditions. The Arabica coffee produced on the island is named Mandheling and Lintong. In particular, the Mandheling was named after the Mandheling ethnic group located in the northern area of Sumatra in the province of Aceh.
